BBQ Picnic at Heathcote, Applecross 21 Nov 2010

A Barbeque Picnic at Heathcote, Applecross was organised by HakkaWA on 21 November 2010.

The Association did not have to outlay any of its funds, and all members were invited. Officials from the Consulate-General of China in Perth were also present to enjoy this lovely sunny Sunday.

Seminar on Hakka Culture & History 24 October 2010

A Seminar was given by renowned Hakka artist Mr. WANG Bo 王博 from Huizhou, China on 24 October 2010 when he visited Perth. Mr. Wang has since joined HakkaWA as a financial member. The following photos were taken by another member and artist Victor Yong. This first one here being a "photo for the album" of some of the participants in the seminar:

Swan River Cruise on 14 November 2010

26 HakkaWA members out of a total of 29 passengers were on the Swan River Cruise on 14 November 2010. (The Association's funds were not utilised at all, and 90% of the passengers were members. Each and every passenger paid $50. All members were invited).

Dinner hosted by the President 21 Apr 2010

Honorary Advisors & Committee members who attended the Committee Meeting of 21 April 2010 were invited to a sumptuous dinner hosted by our President at Bentley Chinese Restaurant (浅水湾餐厅), 28A Chapman Road, St James. During the Meeting Mr. James SF CHONG was unanimously appointed Honorary Advisor for the incumbent term. These are some of the pictures taken during the dinner:

The hospitality extended to our Association is very much appreciated. Mr. Li Shugang & Mrs. Li (who was an eye specialist in Beijing), as well as Consul Deng Fang and Consul Yang, were excellent hosts who made sure all the 10 of us had a wonderful experience that evening.

Last of 4 posts - Badminton group activity on 27 March '10 at Wesley College

After the good exercises, most of the players then munched on the Easter cross buns so generously supplied by Clement Tsen. Some of the other members proceeded to Bentley Chinese Restaurant at 28A Chapman Road, St James for some drinks and snacks. The loh-pak and home-made spring rolls there were delicious!

3rd badminton group activity - more pics

Even beginners can have a good time getting some exercise. Many of the players in the group are not seasoned players, but enjoy the physical workout as well as the good compamy. For example, the group adjourned after the games to lunch at Bentley Chinese Restauant.
