The 24th World Hakka Conference was held at Beihai, Guangxi, China, from 30 November to 2 December 2011.

Our Association was represented by a contingent of 12 members: Honorary Advisor Mr & Mrs Zhang Xiaoting, Committee members Alan & Lily Yit, & Mr & Mrs Norman Chia, Secretary, Hon. Chariman & Datin Yong, and members Mr & Mrs Ricy Yick and Mr Peter Hoe.

To make the trip even more worthwhile we decided to add a few days prior to the Conference date, to tour and savour Hakka and Cantonese gourmet food along the way from Shenzhen to Beihai.
First Stop: Shenzhen 26 November to 28 Nov 2011. 第一站:深圳
The 1st evening upon arrival at Shenzhen, we savoured the famed Hakka dish 'Tai Poon Choy' 大盆菜。
Poon Choy - Only about 2/3 was consumed by the whole group.

Spring Roasts Gathering 春 季 烤 肉 聚 餐 Hakka WA

The Spring Roasts Gathering sponsored by Honorary Advisor Mr Edward Kuh, Mrs Sandra Kuh & family and Da' Vanti Homes was held at the Kuh's home at Roleystone on 5 November 2011.

Da' Vanti Homes generously donated $500 to the Hakka Commerce Council, an offshoot of HakkaWA, as well as sponsoring the evening's sumptuous roasts and other foods and drinks. They also donated the first prize of a $200 hamper for the Raffling Lucky Draw.

The Kuh family also generously donated a number of prizes for the Raffling. Other members who contributed to the Raffling prizes include Judy Vun, Lily Yit, Juliet Chin, Seu Lin Wong.


Honorary Advisor Mr Francis Yapp brought a bottle of premium wine for all to share. Long time member Mr Chan Mou Sing brought 6 bottles of wine to share, and was the first to turn up at the event, at 3pm.


客属常聚会,春深会山村。115日,近300多位西澳客家公会男女老少,踏着春雨,披上晚霞,来到客家公会名誉顾问古远求温玉蓉位于Roleystone山村别墅,参加古先生准备的春季烤肉聚餐晚会

古远求先生以华人传统的烤羊肉. 烧猪. 烧鴨以及咖喱. 香茅配制的鳮和猪肉以及其他食品. 酒水,免费供应与会者。


席前,在执行副会长杨奕驹先生主持下,以及杨奕骏秘书长协助积极推崇,举行了以小叶先生捐赠的富贵延年等两幅寓意繁荣昌盛的牡丹. 仙鹤水墨重彩作品的拍卖活动,有别与众的画法,具有特别的视角冲击力,深得乡亲们欢迎。


在不到一个小时的拍卖中就两位新任名誉顾问张启声先生和张小庭先生竞得。他们本着和古远求先生一样心态,为自已公会出钱出力,慷慨解囊做好亊。

83岁的梁英源老先生,在抽奖活动中赢得头奖,众乡亲都说难得英源伯热心参与,他头奖的获得就是众望所归。

Mr and Mrs Eddie Liew 廖坤贤和太太谢洁玲。 They won the  President's 'award' for being the  Top Raffling Tickets Promoters, raising hundreds of dollars for the Association!

公会代表团拜访中国驻珀斯汪银儿总领事 Courtesy visit on Chinese Consul-General Ms WANG Yiner


2011 111日下午3时,西澳客家公会代表团拜访中国驻珀斯总领事馆,汪银儿总领事,张洪副总领事,邓方领事,接见西澳客家公会代表,并以茶点招待。

客家民系这个中华民族伟大的民系,在炎黄华夏历史的长河里,特别在近现代栉风沐雨的政治变革中,造就和陶冶出如孙中山, 叶挺, 邓小平, 叶剑英等无数的客家英雄豪杰。

On 1 November 2011 our Association sent a delegation to pay a courtesy call on Ms WANG Yiner, the new Consul-General of the People's Republic of China in Perth. 

The group consisted of the President, Honorary Adviser Mr ZHANG Xiaoting, Chinese Secretary Xiao Ye, Executive Vice President, and Committee members Norman Chia, Juliet Chin and ZHANG Aihong.

Spring Kayaking & Cycling春季划皮艇,脚踏车运动

On Saturday 23 October 2011 HakkaWA Youths organised and took part in a Spring Kayaking & Cycling Activity at the Swan River foreshore at Point Fraser: 春季划皮艇,脚踏车运动。

有7人参加了划皮艇,3 人坐脚踏车运动,另2人坐在河边欣赏风景,吹凉风。

7 youths paddle out in kayaks, 3 members chose to cycle along the riverside, and 2 members decided to just sit on the river bank and enjoy the scenery and cool breeze!

友谊拜访北澳客家公会 Friendship Visit to Hakka Association of Northern Territory, Darwin

Our Executive Vice President was invited by the Hakka Association of Northern Territory to visit Darwin, and he embarked on the 3 days trip on 7 October 2011.

Immediate Past President Mr Tim Mu and his comrades including the newly elected President and Committee entertained and briefed on the development of the NT Hakka Association.
